Clemson Football:
Allen F. Reeves Football Complex

Client: Clemson University Football (Jack Porter
Summary: Clemson University desired to set the new standard for college athletic facilities with its 142,500 square feet Allen F. Reeves Football Complex. Complete with state-of-the-art training and meeting spaces, the building boasts some of the finest player and staff amenities in the country. Most importantly, this building was to be the “Epitome of Clemson,” as described by Head Coach Dabo Swinney. Jack Porter partnered with the football administration, HOK Architects, and Goodwyn Mills Cawood to design an experience that embodied the Clemson brand: its rich history, its tradition, and the current coaching staff’s philosophy of fun, family, and character.

Upon entering the building’s lobby, visitors are welcomed by National Championship trophies and supporting stories. The pageantry of the Clemson game day experience is captured with a replica of the iconic “Hill” complete with Howard’s Rock and a two-story mural depicting “the most exciting 25 seconds in college football.” The hallways of the building are lined with displays honoring All-Americans, NFL players, current players, and the great moments and teams of the past. Interwoven with the accolades are the core phrases and values that define Coach Swinney’s program. From an interactive NFL display to a photo-op Nike gear room, displays invite recruits to live the legacy and excitement of the program. Upstairs, the PAW Journey walks recruits and their families through the holistic approach of the team— from academics, to community, to family, to career— becoming a Tiger is much more than what happens on the field.
